APA-KY awards Town Branch Water Walk

Jul 27, 2016

The self-guided audio tour of Lexington’s hidden water body, Town Branch Water Walk has won a Special Merit Award for Outstanding Use of Technology: Civic Engagement by the American Planning Association – Kentucky Chapter!

The Water Walk is an interactive experience that provides a broader understanding of the biophysical area around the Town Branch, revealing the water that runs beneath the city, and demonstrates the impacts residents can have on water quality in their neighborhood. Together with SCAPE and MTWTF, landscape architecture students at the University of Kentucky developed maps and podcasts about various aspects of Lexington’s complex water system, which can be viewed at townbranchwaterwalk.com.
