Urban Agenda Magazine features SCAPE’s Oyster Related Projects

Dec 19, 2016

Kate and SCAPE’s work has been featured in the article, “Between Two Shells: Are Oysters the Key to a Healthy Ecosystem?” in Urban Agenda Magazine. It begins with examining the historical significance of oysters in New York City and goes on to highlight their capabilities for water filtration, tidal protection, and increasing biodiversity in marine habitats.

SCAPE’s ideas on living infrastructure are connected to NYC’s resiliency efforts through the Oyster-tecture project and current design and implementation of the Living Breakwaters project, currently in the 60% design phase.
