SAFARI 7 / NYC Urban Ecology Tour
Urban Landscape Lab / Columbia University GSAPP
11:00 AM-12:30 PM / No.7 subway train
Please join us of a launch of Safari 7 on May 16th ! This is a multi year collaboration between Janette Kim, Kate Orff, and Glen Cummings to highlight New York City's urban ecology.
Meet at the front of the No. 7 platform at Times Square. Bring your mp3 players!
Friends of all ages are welcome.

We are launching a beta version of the tour, with podcasts developed by Barnard + Columbia Architecture students in Janette's Senior Seminar course on urban ecology. We will ride the subway from Times Square to Flushing followed by snacks at the Flushing Mall. Podcasts look at urban design and planning, landscape architecture, and architecture in relationship to ecological issues, including species survival within the city's infrastructures, trans-species cooperation and competition, animal psychology, migration, ecological succession, geologic time scales, and the past, present, and future of New York City's ecology.
