...while the digital screens and elaborate models of the other four teams filling the museum’s exhibition hall seemed very ambitious, there was something more down to earth and “do-able” about Orff’s design – reflecting a focus on the main character in her plan, the humble but underappreciated oyster.

“The oyster is an amazing creature,” Orff said.

...On a less-ambitious scale, Orff’s Oyster-Tecture project is something she thinks could actually be built and could start improving water quality and life in Brooklyn immediately.

“My goal is absolutely not conceptual, there’s nothing here that’s off the moon,” she said emphatically. “We could start tomorrow.”
