Kate Orff
Kate Orff is the founding principal of SCAPE. Through her creative leadership of the firm, she explores the cultural and physical complexity of urban landscapes and their unique textures, ecologies, programs and publics. She is a registered landscape architect and an Assistant Professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, leading studios that integrate the earth sciences into the design curriculum. After graduating from the University of Virginia with Distinction, Kate earned a Master in Landscape Architecture from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard. She has worked on projects for many prominent academic institutions and private clients that have been published nationally and internationally. She trained for several years with the landscape architecture and planning firm Hargreaves Associates and with the Dutch architect/urbanist Rem Koolhaas at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, before starting her own practice. Kate has received several design awards and lectured widely in the U.S. and abroad on the topic of urban landscape and sustainability.

Elena Brescia
Elena Brescia has been designing and constructing landscapes in the New York metropolitan region since 1989. She plays a crucial role as principal in the firm advancing ideas throughout the design process from concept to built form, and has a reputation for thoroughness, attention to detail, and quality construction. Elena Brescia earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993, and since then her work has covered the spectrum from large public works to small private works. Her career began with work on the Conceptual Plan for Hudson River Park with Quennell Rothschild Associates, which entailed extensive community involvement and multi-disciplinary collaboration. She has also worked on local parks and private estates of all sizes. Most recently, her work with Rogers Marvel Architects, PLLC, focused on streetscapes in the lower Manhattan community of Battery Park City, a project that has received national design and planning awards from both the AIA and ASLA.

Daniela Serna
Daniela Fernanda Serna Jiménez.is the lead coordinator for urban design and international projects. She holds a Masters degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, and was licensed as an architect from the ITESM in Monterrey, N.L. México where she was born. Her line of work concentrates on the research and design of public spaces as constructed by both organic and inorganic elements. As a practicing professional, she has completed works in the fields of urban design, landscape, architecture, set and graphic design, as well as publishing several articles.
