New York Hall of Science
Queens, New York
Currently under construction
This project, with ENNEAD Architects, reimagines the terrace at the iconic and historic science museum building of the 1964 New York World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. The design accommodates diverse programming from educational areas to event spaces and circulation on an elevated terrace. SCAPE is designing a heavily planted space with curved, undulating planters that reflect the signature geometry of the building, shaping micro-educational and gathering opportunities, and screening. The planters also take advantage of abandoned fountains to allow for increased soil depth.
