Ben is a Landscape Designer at SCAPE. His interest in landscape architecture is shaped by a background in art and his experience working as a farmhand. He is interested in environmental justice, urban ecology, and the politics of urban public space. Prior to joining SCAPE, he was a designer for Ken Smith Workshop and a curatorial assistant at the Art Institute of Chicago.
He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Art History from Knox College. He was a 2015 fellow for the Earth Stewardship Initiative of the Ecological Society of America, where he contributed to a plan for conserving bird habitat in a large urban park in Baltimore.
