Cara is a landscape designer at SCAPE. Influenced by her time working as a community-based educator and graphic designer in the Hudson Valley, Cara works to create landscapes that are grounded in collaboration and long-term thinking, and are at once joyful, alive, and evolving. She is particularly interested in how designers can engage with both landscapes and communities, which she explored in her collaborative research along the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Cara holds a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia where she received the Stanley and Helen Abbott Award, the Benjamin C. Howland Traveling Fellowship, and an ASLA Certificate of Merit. She also holds a BA in Studio Art and Environmental Studies from Oberlin College.
