A Vision For Improving the Stock Exchange District

May 15, 2018

Over the last year, SCAPE has been working on a team with WXY Architecture + Urban Design, Sam Schwartz Engineering, and City Activators, to provide guidance for major design changes in the Stock Exchange District. Yesterday, The Alliance for Downtown New York released the result of the ninth-month process: a detailed report titled “A More Welcoming Wall & Broad: A Vision for Improving the Stock Exchange District” that lays out a series of recommendations that would make one of the most heavily visited and historically important areas of New York City more welcoming, vibrant and secure. The study incorporates public feedback, and guidance from over 30 stakeholders, including local property owners, residents, cultural institutions, and government agencies.
