NYC Public Design Commission announces this year’s winners in the annual Awards for Excellence in Design. As stated in the Architect’s Newspaper article, “These thoughtful and innovative designs support the de Blasio administration’s commitment to providing quality, equitable, and resilient public spaces to all New Yorkers.” Neilson, PDC President. SCAPE is thrilled to have our Snug Harbor Cultural Center Music Hall landscape project included in the projects honored this year.
The Snug Harbor Cultural Center Music Hall in Staten Island is an elegant addition to the existing music hall structure. Completed in 1892, this historic gem is the second oldest theater in NYC. SCAPE’s landscape design plan, creates a courtyard and public lawn, providing flexible space for the Music Hall and Snug Harbor campus, reinvigorating the historic structure and enhancing programmatic opportunities for visitors.
