Pippa Brashear, Director of Planning and Resilience at SCAPE, will be participating in the Urban Landscapes panel at the “Extreme Heat: Hot Cities – Adapting to a Hotter World” Symposium. The Design for Risk and Reconstruction Committee of the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter is bringing together designers, engineers, government officials, NGOs, researchers and journalism to discuss critical and actionable approaches to extreme heat in urban centers.
Topics will include urban climatology, reforestation, cutting-edge radiant cooling strategies, and upcoming shifts in urban policy, as well as other key facets of extreme heat.
