The New York-Presbyterian/Allen Hospital opened its new 10,000 square foot green roof and terrace on September 28, 2016. SCAPE designed the new roof terrace to provide a centralized outdoor social space for visitors, patients and hospital staff. Enclosed on three sides, the terrace provides green views into the hospital, with a field of spring and summer blooming sedums creating a textured threshold between interior and exterior spaces. A central patio with views across the Spuyten Duyvil is surrounded by lawn, offering visitors flexible seating arrangement for lunch, meetings, and rehabilitation.
