A major milestone for the Living Breakwaters project has been reached with the recently published Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). The Draft EIS for the Coastal and Social Resiliency Initiatives for Tottenville Shoreline, Staten Island, New York (Living Breakwaters and Tottenville Shoreline Protection Projects), was released for public review and comment by GOSR on Friday.
The DEIS is available online and hard copies are available at the Tottenville Public Library and GOSR’s offices at 25 Beaver St. There will be a 45-day public comment period for the Draft EIS, which officially began on March 24, 2017 and ends on May 8, 2017. There will also be a public hearing on April 26, 2017 at PS 6, 555 Page Avenue, Staten Island.
