SCAPE and Dr. Don Boesch envision the future coast of Louisiana

Aug 6, 2020

Yesterday, Kate joined WWNO’s Tegan Wendland for a virtual event on the Washington Post Live, Conservation and Sustainability, to discuss SCAPE’s collaboration with Dr. Don Boesch and the Walton Family Foundation on a vision for the Louisiana coast with fully implemented restoration. The segment also included Mary Robinson, former president of Ireland; Christiana Figueres, former executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change; and Mayor Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles.

You can view the full segment here.

‘Envisioning Our Future Coast’ is an optimistic vision of the Louisiana coast where environmental changes are addressed at a regional scale – a plausible best case for the future where coastal ecosystems and economies can be even more productive and valuable than they are today.
