At SCAPE’s 2022 retreat, our New York, New Orleans, and San Francisco staff convened at the Bear Mountain Inn in upstate New York to reflect on a year of growth and change at the firm, share ideas, and mobilize for the year ahead.
Firm leadership gave a year-in-summary update followed by breakout rooms focused on overarching themes informing our practice, from climate adaptation to innovation in construction. Then followed an afternoon of outdoor activities: a hike up Bear Mountain led by SCAPE-r Chris Ingui (a former trail builder), watercolor painting and sports by Hessian Lake, and swimming. The evening ended with s’mores, dinner, and drinks in the main lodge.
