SCAPE’s Ecological Citizens—one of the seven installations featured in the US Pavilion’s Dimensions of Citizenship at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale—argued for the important role that individual people and design play in protecting and restoring regional landscapes of all kinds. To put this into practice, we worked with our partners at the Università di Bologna, Life Vimine and the Italian Institute of Marine Sciences, to re-deploy the fascines (wooden bundles) featured in the installation back into the same lagoon they were sourced from.
Now, Dimensions of Citizenship is coming to the US for the first time, and will be on view at Wrightwood 659 in Chicago. The exhibition will be open from February 28th to April 27th.
