New project in Nation’s Capital

Jun 21, 2016

There is exciting news emerging from the Nation’s Capital! SCAPE landscape architecture collaboration with SHoP Architects and WDG Architecture! The urban development, Midtown Center Mixed-use Plaza, has officially broken ground in Washington D.C., introducing a new courtyard, cross-block connections for pedestrians, water features, and a new spectrum of landscaping colors, all creating an iconic public oasis for the city.

With development amenities of retail, public plaza space, arcades, terraces and an extensive green roof system, this design project, not only provides local comfort, but together, the ground level landscape and rooftop terraces will meet D.C.’s new Green Area Ratio requirement of 40% planted open space for the Capitol City’s downtown.
