Kate will be traveling to Atlanta on March 26th to give a keynote presentation at Park Pride’s Annual Parks & Greenspace Conference: the largest greenspace gathering in the southeast. This year’s theme, “Parks & the Resilient City,” will focus on how robust park systems contribute to the resiliency of urban environments. The conference will bring together local and national thought leaders to discuss how to enhance our parks and greenspaces to better withstand acute and chronic stressors in the face of population growth and economic uncertainty. Kate’s presentation, “Toward an Urban Ecology,” will discuss strategies for mapping, park design, and diverse coastal edges, and how to transform public spaces into multi-purpose infrastructures that hold water and foster civic life.
