Today, SCAPE was selected by the Walton Family Foundation alongside 21 other firms nationwide as part of its Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program.

The Walton Family Foundation established the program in 2015 to help the region address its growth, preserve its green spaces and promote the highest level of design in the development of its public buildings and spaces. It selects design professionals and projects based on four key principles: a commitment to strengthening public life; elevating standards of sustainability and resilience; celebrating local cultures and place; and building regional capacity. The program now supports 15 projects across the region’s five largest downtowns, including accessory dwelling units; educational facilities; arts and cultural amenities; parks; a municipal campus; pedestrian network; and playscapes.

SCAPE has previously worked with the Walton Family Foundation and LTL Architects on the Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center in Bentonville, AR—and, more recently, on Our Future Coast, a collaboration with Dr. Don Boesch to imagine a future with successful restoration efforts across coastal Louisiana.

In Little Rock, AR, we are also collaborating with Studio Gang on the re-imagined Arkansas Arts Center, which is currently under construction.
